More waterproof than I thought, was in pouring highland rain and high winds and kept her head dry and warm. My daughter is so cosy in it, she can move her head without it coming off and it covers her ears. She loves it because she says it's a mermaid hat. Quite handy for a little toddler who is very fashion proud.
